Just noticed the questions today, so answer time!

1. yeah, this place is freaking cold. there is a wind blowing like hell and it often rains but not pouring, that annoying little shower kind of rain. it’s like somebody is making a very bad rain joke almost every day.  my advice, get some warm clothes, and some rainproof stuff.

2. edinburgh is a really safe city, once you get here, you’ll remark that there are people all over the place all the time. it has one of the best night life in the Scotland, and the Uk, so there is always a policeman around. usually, the crowd is fun, and there are NO people hiding in the dark out to get you. there is a park, it’s called the Meadows, you are going to love it but i would avoid crossing it during night time so it’s better to avoid that place. apart from that, new town and old town are pretty safe. one other place which is not the best place to be out at night is Leith, but trust me, Old Town and New Town is where you’re going you’re going to spend most of your time.
